Torrance City Councilman Pat Furey leads the way
with web presence
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 27, 2011
Torrance City Councilman Pat Furey released his
new, updated website at CouncilmanPatFurey.com
in hopes of reaching voters, and allowing voters
easier access to reaching him. Councilman Furey
has a strong web presence, including an active
Facebook and Twitter account (@CouncilmanFurey).
Councilman Furey stated, “I believe that
communication between elected officials and
those that they serve has never been more
important in our society. An informed community
is an empowered community.
Every day issues arise, events occur and ideas
are brought forward that the community should
know. And, transparency in government at all
levels is most important.
That is why, with today's information
technology, I am proud to host an active website
and to facilitate social media such as Facebook
and Twitter to keep our friends, neighbors and
supporters informed. In addition, this affords
everyone an opportunity to correspond directly
with me on matters that are important to all of
us."
Councilman Furey was first elected to the
Torrance City Council in 2008. Prior to serving
on the Council, Pat served as President of the
Torrance Education Foundation and the North
Torrance Homeowners Association, while also
serving as a Commissioner for both the City of
Torrance and Torrance Unified School District.
Pat’s website has launched with a host of
endorsements already, including Torrance Mayor
Frank Scotto, all five of Pat’s colleagues on
the City Council, former Torrance Mayors Dee
Hardison and Ken Miller, along with an early
endorsement from the Torrance City Employees (AFSCME
1117).
